Michael Chhay

Michael will receive his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Aeronautics and Astronautics and Computer Science from Stanford University in 2024 and 2025, respectively. His interests include microstructures, satellites, space software, or anything related to space flight! Currently, in XLab, he is working on the Graphene Aerogel in Microgravity project's thermal stability characterization and also serves as the community outreach chair for the XLab.

In 2023, Michael was awarded the highly competitive Zed Factor Fellowship which allowed him the opportunity to intern with the Loft Orbitals system engineering team.  Outside of engineering, Michael likes to surf, swim, play water polo, and hang out with friends!
